  • A magazine about the future, Scope is an overview about all possible things related to what is taking place now and predicting what is to come, an extension of the zines that we had created for the same publication design class. Working in groups of four, I was involved with working with the F.O.B. section.

Working in groups of four, we had looked at existing magazines for ideas on layouts, inspiration, and how to solve certain layout problems during the process. Magazines such as Monocle, Case da Abitare, and the New York Times Magazine were put into consideration during this process.

Looking at what we were working with, we created set sizes for titles, headlines, and body copy, as well as figuring out a style to carry throughout the section. Factors were put into consideration for the other sections of the magazine to work and discuss how to organize information.

Each group member was given specific spreads to work on to carry the operation through. Advertisements, artwork and images were collected, designed, and created based upon need. I dealt with the handling of our class of 15 students' files, my groups files, and was involved in the layout, art direction, images and type treatment of each section. Streamlining typography, alignment, color management of files, and sending off to printer were also under my responsibility.
