"This lively volume celebrates the contributions to inventive fashionable living by the New York– based style innovator Opening Ceremony—a bible for the fashion-forward and culturally savvy alike. In 2002, when Carol Lim and Humberto Leon opened the downtown Manhattan retail shop Opening Ceremony, they created what has become the most innovative fashion and culture destination in New York. Bringing together the best emerging American talent with international designers and historic brands, Opening Ceremony represents the best in fashion and has played a vital role in launching the careers of many young designers. Celebrating the company’s tenth anniversary, Opening Ceremony is a visually rich documentation of Leon and Lim’s diverse inspirations, collaborators, and creative community, including Ryan McGinley, Rodarte, and Alexander Wang. A celebratory look at New York’s quintessential style headquarters, this book will captivate and inspire readers from fashion, art, music, film, and beyond." —Book Release Description, Amazon

  • Lunch Hour NYC
"Lunch Hour NYC looks back at more than a century of New York lunches, when the city’s early power brokers invented what was yet to be called “power lunch,” local charities established a 3-cent school lunch, and visitors with guidebooks thronged Times Square to eat lunch at the Automat. Drawing on materials from throughout the Library, the exhibition explores the ways in which New York City—work-obsessed, time-obsessed, and in love with ingenious new ways to make money—reinvented lunch in its own image."

—From the events page at www.nypl.org

Under the art direction of Pure+Applied, I was involved with exhibition graphics, print collateral, materials sourcing and production.

Under the creative direction of Megan Widman and Seth Whitton, I worked on the visual design of the Camp subsite, referencing camp signs, the outdoors, and summer.

  • The New A.B.C.'s
Inspired by the Chinese ideographic principle of associative compounds and the use of the modular system of the square, I want to capture memories of growing up triggered by visual imagery. Using the game as an interactive medium, the user discovers the visual relationship of ideas, individual or communal, that can be applied to their local context. If we delve into this pool of ideas, expound upon them, embody them, and embed them into wherever we may be, we can cultivate our environments and create identities that are based more upon our unique dichotomies than the existing globalized culture.
